8-week behavioral sleep intervention.

Study Type
Intervention to help children sleep more
Study Purpose
To determine whether an intervention to increase sleep in school-age children is associated with positive changes in eating and activity behaviors and zBMI
Study Design
Randomized controlled trial
Study Requirements
To be eligible for the study children must be 8-11 years old and sleep approximately 9.5 hours or less nightly.
Study Duration
Following an initial orientation visit, families will visit the center 4 times over an 8-week period.
Study Benefits
All families who participate in the study will learn effective strategies for enhancing their children’s sleep. Enhancing children’s sleep is associated with a number of benefits, including improvements in mood, attention, memory, and learning. It is also associated with reduced risk for accidental injuries and possible improvements in health.
