This study is a 6-month weight loss program. We are interested in learning more about eating-related experiences and behaviors that occur throughout a weight loss attempt.

Study Purpose |
To assess eating-related experiences and behaviors that occur during a 6-month behavioral weight loss and maintenance program. |
Study Design |
If eligible, you will receive a 6-month weight loss program. The first 3 months will consist of weekly, in-person, individual meetings, which will focus on behavioral approaches for improving diet and physical activity. Individuals will then transition to monthly booster sessions for the final 3 months. You will be asked to wear a watch-like activity sensor on your wrist for the duration of the study. You will also be asked to complete surveys on your smartphone and answer questions about your food on the phone. Compensation will be provided for assessment visits. |
Study Requirements |
To be eligible, individuals must be overweight/obese (BMI: 25-40 kg/m2), between the ages of 18-70, and have a diagnosis of pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure. |
Study Duration |
6 months total (3-month weekly weight loss program, followed by 3-months of monthly booster sessions). |
Study Benefits |
You will receive a 6-month behavioral weight loss program which will provide you with tools and knowledge for improving eating and exercise habits. You will also be compensated for completing assessment visits. |
