Study Purpose |
Project BALANCE is a research study designed to help women feel better about their bodies and prepare women to lose weight with a more positive body image. |
Study Design |
If eligible, women will receive a 4-week program, with weekly, one-hour group meetings. The meetings are designed to help you feel better about your body and prepare you to approach weight loss with a more positive body image. All participants will complete an assessment before and after the program as well as one follow-up group meeting to discuss your experience in the program. Upon completing the study procedures all participants will receive information about healthy weight loss and resources for weight loss. Participation in this study will be entirely remote.

Study Requirements |
You may be eligible if you are female, between the ages of 25 and 70 years, consider yourself to be overweight or have been told by a medical professional that you are overweight (BMI 25-40 kg/m2), feel negatively about your body because of your body weight and/or shape, and want to lose weight. |
Study Duration |
All study procedures will be completed in approximately 8 weeks. |
