Jessica Unick, PhD is an Associate Professor (Research) of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and The Miriam Hospital’s Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center. She received her PhD in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular behavioral medicine at Brown. Broadly her research focuses on the development and implementation of adaptive and translatable interventions to target physical activity and weight loss. More specifically, recent grants from the NIH and other organizations have focused on examining yoga as a weight loss maintenance strategy, the use of phone coaching to rescue early non-responders within weight loss treatment, and remote-based interventions for increasing exercise among cancer survivors.
