Jessica Unick PhD, is an Assistant Professor (Research) of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and an exercise physiologist at the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center. She earned her PhD in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a 2-year NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular behavioral medicine at Brown. One of Dr. Unick’s primary research interests is in the development of non-surgical treatment approaches for severe obesity, with a particular focus on physical activity in the context of lifestyle interventions. In addition, she is broadly interested in examining the role of exercise in weight control, with a specific emphasis on examining how exercise may influence eating behaviors.
