
Elissa Jelalian, Ph.D.

Dr. Elissa Jelalian is an Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Jelalian received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Miami University in Ohio. She subsequently completed a clinical internship at the University of Rochester Medical Center, with a specialization in child psychology. During her two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University School of Medicine, she gained extensive research and clinical training in the area of pediatric psychology. Dr. Jelalian’s general research interests are in the area of adolescent health risk. She has a particular interest in weight regulation and the familial transmission of eating and weight patterns.
Since 1992, Dr. Jelalian has been a member of the Child Track Committee, for the Brown University Psychology Internship Consortium and from 1996 to present has been a participant in the Child Track Seminar Series. Dr. Jelalian has also been a member of the Admissions Committee for the Brown University Psychology Internship Consortium, Child Track Representative since 1997.
