Carly M. Goldstein, Ph.D, is an Assistant Professor (Research) of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Brown Alpert Medical School and the Weight Control & Diabetes Research Center of The Miriam Hospital. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Kent State University in 2015. Her research is focused on developing and improving mHealth interventions and prevention programs for obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes utilizing novel technology. Much of her work involves adapting existing weight loss programs to clinical settings serving medically-complex patients including cardiac rehabilitation and primary care. She is also interested in adequate self-management such as medication adherence and cognitive impairment. Dr. Goldstein is broadly interested in novel research methodology such as the Multiphase Optimization Strategy and dissemination and implementation science.
