E. Whitney Evans PhD, RD, Dr. E. Whitney Evans is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School and the Weight Control & Diabetes Research Center of The Miriam Hospital. As a Registered Dietitian, Dr. Evans is broadly interested in examining the dietary correlates of excess weight gain in youth. She currently has a K01 award from the NIDDK to examine how changes in diet and physical activity affect risk for excess summer weight gain in youth from low-resource, urban communities and how existing resources like the Summer Food Service Program can be leveraged to reduce this risk. Dr. Evans received her PhD from Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy in 2013.
